GUIDE TO THE IRON BANNER

Lady Efrideet

What is the Iron Banner?

The Iron Banner is a special crucible event for players level 40 and above can lead a Fireteam of six Guardians against another fireteam. Players with light levels below 40 can still play, but they will find it difficult to keep up with the other players since level advantages are enabled during this event. A Guardians Defense rating affects how you take damage, while the Attack rating affects how you inflict damage. Lower-level players wielding fully-upgraded weapons are still considered a very credible threat!

Reputation is gained by competing in Iron Banner matches, with a maximum rank of 5 for all participants. Increasing ranks gain access to armor, weapons, emblems, shaders and more. It’s important to keep in mind that Rank and Standing are awarded to the victor. In defeat, Guardians will earn a token redeemable for a portion of your lost gains. Players can collect up to five, which are cashed in upon their next victory. Yet there are other ways reputation can be gained without winning a match. Players can quickly gain reputation by completing Weekly Iron Banner Bounties. Complete these special Bounties to gain Event Standing with the Iron Lords. The best thing is that Iron Banner Bounties can be completed regardless of whether a Guardian wins the match, they simply have to complete the requirements for each Bounty.

How the Iron Banner Works

Wins and Medallions

With every Iron Banner match that a player wins, 250 reputation points are rewarded towards the next Iron Banner rank. When a player loses a match, no points are awarded and instead players receive a Medallion of Iron. Players can hold up to 5 Medallions at a time and on the next win the Medallions will be turned in for 150 additional points. For example, if a player loses 3 matches in a row they will receive 3 Medallions, if a win occurs in the next round the player will receive an additional 450 points on top of the regularly awarded points.

Alternate Characters

If players have multiple characters competing in the Iron Banner event, each additional character played can earn increased reputation gains. These increased reputation gains will be earned once the first character has reached Rank 2 and the alternate character reaches Rank 1 and will be awarded until the rank of the alternate character matches the rank of the character with the highest Iron Banner reputation rank.

Bounties

In addition to the reputation from winning matches and Medallions, Lady Efrideet will also offer 4 Weekly Bounties which can be completed to received XP, Legendary Marks, Iron Banner Gear, and a large amount of Iron Banner reputation.
